MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village Civic Hall
Monday, Apri116, 2012 - 8:00 p.m.
The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, April 16, 2012 at
8:00 p.m. at Mayfield Village Civic Hall. Council President Buckholtz called the meeting to
order.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mrs. Mills,
Mr. Marrie, Dr. Parker and Mr. Delguyd
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Wynne, Ms. Ca1ta, Mr. Cappello,
Chief Edelman, Mr. Marrelli, Mr. Metzung,
Chief Mohr, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Dinardo
and Mrs. Betsa
Absent: Mr. Esborn and Mrs. Wolgamuth
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
SWEARING-IN CEREMONY - ADMI1vISTRATION OF OATHS OF OFFICE:
. Patrol Officer Matt Hocevar . Sergeant Kevin Miller
By way of prelude, Mayor Rinker stated, I can't resist because Detective Smith is here. How
many people remember what they did in 1961? I was 10. J. Edgar Hoover was actually a young
man in those days. We really have to acknowledge him, and he's been very humble and refuses
anything celebratory. We won't necessarily let him get away with it, but at least tonight, in
preface to the fact that it talces two officers to fill the shoes of one, I think we owe a round of
applause to Smitty.
Mayor Rinker continued, I can't think of a better tribute than to be able to swear in tonight two
exceptional officers, both of whom scored tops in their respective tests, one for Sergeant, one for
officer. They are local, one a Mayfield grad, the other, well, from Brush, but we will allow that.
It's still cooperation, hands across the borders and all that. These are both officers who served
very well.
Administration of Oath of Office to Sergeant Miller
Mayor Rinker sta.ted, Smitty, I know you are here as a sponsor for this young man who has
worked with you for at least four years in the Detective department, with the SWAT team, you
represent Mayfield very well and we are proud to be able to swear you in tonight.
The oath of off ce was administered to Kevin Miller as Sergeant for Mayfield Village.
