Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, October 15, 2012
Page 13
Mr. Metzung replied, yes. Those homes did and maybe the two corner homes on Robley.
Historically again, to refresh everyone's recollection, Mayor Rinker continued, there had been a
pump station, the Thomapple Pump Station which had been on its last legs probably 20 years
ago. They got a new engine block and got a new lease on life but ultimately the County had to
take that one out of commission and set up the pump facility that's in the circle right there at
Ravine where Robley comes in to Ravine. Those 7 houses were put in and put on line. Again we
were fortunate there because the Village didn't have to contribute anything to tha.t. The County
covered that whole nut. So our residents in that one little area got a benefit. Otherwise, as you
know, what we have done is looked at the end game, having an assessment for each residence
comparable in one neighborhood to any other neighborhood. The problem is the variables are
always the particular projects given the terrain, soils, you name it, can vary pretty significantly.
They are a11 in the millions of dollars. That's really why we are really trying to push this one
along.
Council President Buckholtz asked, how many people and how many homes?
Mr. Esborn replied, 58 on Eastgate and Meadowood.
Council President Buckholtz asked, they will be able to pay the assessment comparable to
previous?
Mayor Riiilcer replied, yes. If everything ends up as we proj ected, they will end up with a
comparable assessment as other residences that have gone through the conversion from septic to
sanitaxy.
Council President Buckholtz asked, anybody else?
Mr. Delguyd asked, you mentioned tha.t if we get the funding, the project could be done in 2013
or 2014?
Mayor Rinker replied, I believe in 2013 because it's usually by January or February that we get
the read from the County.
Mr. Esborn added, I think it depends on when it starts. We are conservative in the application
and don't have it starting until August of 2013. If that's the case, we have it going in to 2014. If
we are able to start it earlier, we can probably get it done by 2013.
Council President Buckholtz stated years ago we used to get the news in December.
Mr. Esborn stated, in the application, they allot periods for finding out, bidding, etc.
