Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, December 16, 2013
Page 12
Motion to authorize transfer from the General Fund to the Green Corridor
Construction Fund to cover future costs associated with the trail system the sum of
One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000).
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize transfer from the General Fund
to the Green Corridor Construction Fund to cover future costs associated with the trail system the
sum of One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($175,000).
Council President Buckholtz asked, discussion?
Mr. Wynne replied, this is just a transfer that we have been making every year for the past
couple years. The funding for the construction through NOACA is an 80/20. 80 comes through
the grant, 20 is our portion. In addition to our 20%, we have to pay the engineering costs to go
along with it. This $175,000 is just to cover our portion of the project.
Council President Buckholtz asked, do we know what is in that account right now? This has
been building up?
Mr. Wynne replied, it's been building up every year, but we also spend it down every year
because URS had to do a lot of preliminary work before we went out to bid on the project. Now
construction started, so we have started to draw down on that a little bit also. As of today's date,
I don't know the exact amount.
Council President Buckholtz asked, any other questions? There were none.
Roll Call: AYES: Buckholtz, Cinco, Mills, Motion Carried
Parker, Delguyd, Marrie Transfer Approved
NAYS: Mazquardt
Motion to authorize advance from the General Fund to the Green Corridor
Construction Fund to cover the construction costs of the trail system the sum of One
Million 5igty Seven Thousand Four Hundred Seventeen Dollars and Fifty-Eight
Cents ($1,067,417.58) (These funds will be reimbursed to us by NOACA in 2014).
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize advance from the General Fund
to the Green Corridor Construction Fund to cover the construction costs of the trail system the
sum of One Million Sixty Seven Thousand Four Hundred Seventeen Dollars and Fifty-Eight
Cents ($1,067,417.58) (These funds will be reimbursed to us by NOACA in 2014).
Council President Buckholtz asked, any discussion?
Mr. Wynne replied, again, this is the 80% cost of the construction project that is through a grant.
Once that money is received next year, it will be paid back to the General Fund.
Council President Buckholtz asked, it covers things that we have done and things we will have
done?
