1

MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village
June 2, 2003
The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, June 2, 2003 at
8:00 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill
Buckholtz presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Marne,
Mrs. Mills, Dr. Parker and Mr. Riter
Absent: None
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Ms. Calta, Mr. Cappello, Mr. Metzung,
Chief Mohr, Mr. Samac, Sgt. Smith, Mr. Thomas and
Mrs. Roman
AMENDMENT OF AGENDA:
Council President Buckholtz requested a motion to amend the agenda; TC Construction was
listed as a motion and we now have it on as an Ordinance.
OPEN PORTION:
Council President Buckholtz asked if Mr. Cronemeyer (in the audience) wished to speak. He
said he just came from his house and does not know how somebody could do that. We feel bad;
it's quite impossible to go back and change what was done but we are certainly looking to amend
the problem any way we can.
Bill Cronemeyer, Creekwood Lane said you have seen the pictures. I do not think the Village
is responsible for this damage. I feel the perpetrator is VanCuren. He requested we show them
the photos and his letters and see what their response is in terms of their responsibility. If you let
me know the response, that would be great; let's take it from there.
Mr. Metzung said he had contacted VanCuren but did not show them the pictures after the
original request. At that point we had talked about getting a new tree. He let them know this
was something we were not real happy about.
Council President Buckholtz said in your first communication they had felt real bad about it;
There was some confusion as to someone new on the truck; nobody seasoned in the business
would've done that.
Mr. Metzung said I talked to their arborist (and I don't know that he had seen the tree.)
