Regular Council Minutes <br />6-16-03 <br />Page 2 <br />COMMENTS FROM MAYOR RINKER <br />Mayor Rinker said we had a sunny night (we've had 14 all year) for `SOs Night. It was a <br />success. A lot of people came out. <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ: <br />Council President Buckholtz had no comments. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />Building - Mr. Samac said the demolition of the two homes should begin (hopefully) this week. <br />They finished the abatement this afternoon so they should be razed soon. <br />Finance - Mr. Brett said he will be working on the tax budget over the next week or so it will be <br />ready for the Public Hearing at the next Council Meeting. The Public Hearing will be July 14. <br />He will give Council a copy of it as soon as it is available. In September, we have rollover of <br />bond anticipation notes. He will share the information with Council at the next meeting as far as <br />how we want to reissue bond anticipation notes. He will answer any questions as they arise. <br /> <br />Parks & Recreation - ~Mr. Thomas said Sports `n More Camp, the learn-to-swim programs and <br />everything except Jr. Camp are off and running. Junior Camp will start next Tuesday. We <br />received a $150,000 NatureWorks Grant which will go for the development south of Parkview <br />Pool. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Activities Committee -Mrs. Roman echoed Mayor Rinker's sentiments (glad the weather <br />cooperated for `SOs Night.) <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any way to estimate the crowd and Lt. Dearden <br />replied a lot. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said the Architectural Review Board met June 12 <br />and approved one addition to asingle-family dwelling. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said there was no meeting since his last report. They will meet <br />this Tuesday. <br />Cemetery -Mrs. Mills said the horticulture students worked with the ladies from the Garden <br />Club at the Historical House and the Cemetery. <br />
