Regular Council Minutes
6-16-03
Page 8
school system within Mayfield Village, which again covering the High School and Center
School makes it very functional for the School District. So I really wouldn't move to be too
restrictive, but I think to be constructive. Already the laboratory that was put in at Center School
is passe. And we've talked in the past about such things as Wi-Fi the potential for wireless
technologies; some of these other uses that may lend themselves to some very interesting
educational tools. So I would like to kind of challenge us all to kind of look to next year as a
target for really earmarking and targeting how those dollars (the $100,000) could be used better.
I think we need to promote that dialog with the school so that this isn't something where it is just
a surpriseanything done at the last minute-with the number of projects that are going on I
think it would be a real good idea.
Council President Buckholtz said thank you, Mayor. I definitely concur. Any other discussion?
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
^ A motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $2,400 to Charles and Rose
Marie Kinnaird for additional compensation for Right-of--Way Acquisition for the
S.O.M. Center Road Widening Project
Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of
$2,400 to Charles and Rose Marie Kinnaird for additional compensation for Right-of--Way
Acquisition for the S.O.M. Center Road Widening Project.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
^ A motion to authorize the Mayor to enter into athree-year contract with SBC
Ameritech for pagers in the annual amount of $3,464.45 (at a cost of $6.25 per pager
per month) Note: The 3-year cost is $10,393.35.
Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize the Mayor to enter into athree-
year contract with SBC Ameritech for pagers in the annual amount of $3,464.45 (at a cost of
$6.25 per pager per month).
Mr. Riter asked, do we have a contact person at Ameritech-in case there's any issues.
Chief Mohr said yes; 100%. That is one of the greatest things I looked for this time around.
Mr. Riter said they deal with pager issues or all communication issues.
Chief Mohr said her specific job is pager issues. She's been with the company 13 years.
r~
1
