Caucus/Regular Council Mtg.
7-14-03
Page 14
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
^ A motion to rescind the motion made April 21, 2003 authorizing an expenditure in
the amount of $9,750 to United Rental for the purchase of a single drum roller
,.
1
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to rescind the motion made April 21, 2003
authorizing an expenditure in the amount of $9,750 to United Rental for the purchase of a single
drum roller.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Mr. Riter asked, how can we be sure in the future that this doesn't occur again-that a piece of
equipment that isn't compatible with the equipment we have isn't brought to Council? Bernie, if
you have any thoughts? I know it wasn't for your department but is there any way that Council
can be assured of that?
Mr. Samac said I don't believe so, Mr. Riter. It's just one of those things. I am not exactly sure
and privy to all the reasons why Doug asked it be rescinded but better to be rescinded than after
we purchased it, I guess.
Dr. Parker said for as long as I've been on Council I don't recall an instance like this occurring. I
think Doug is usually very thorough and I don't remember ever having it before.
Mr. Riter said I just don't want to see it again, that's all.
Mrs. Cinco said I talked to George (who is now our road man) and he said it was difficult getting
it off and on the truck which they just didn't anticipate. I am sure this happens to a number of us
in a lifetime.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any further comments. There were no comments.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried--to rescind motion
made 4-21-03
^ A motion to authorize the advertisement for bids for a new asphalt roller
Mr. Marrie, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize the advertisement for bids for a
new asphalt roller.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any comments.
Dr. Parker asked if there was an amount associated with this. Mrs. Cinco clarified this is just
going out for bid.
