Caucus/Regular Council Mtg. <br />7-14-03 <br />Page 20 <br />Mrs. Cinco said this was discussed at both Safety & Service and Finance-and recommended. <br />Mrs. Mills said maybe Chief Dearden should explain that-especially with the age of the <br />amplifiers. <br />_t <br />Chief Dearden said the breakdown is approximately $400,000 of the total cost is to replace 2 <br />amplifier boxes at the traffic signal at S.O.M. and Aintree. The amplifiers we currently use are <br />approximately 15 years old and don't always work to the potential that they are supposed to. The <br />remaining funds are to replace the 3 southbound loops and pavement at S.O.M. and Wilson <br />Mills. These were the only ones that weren't replaced with the repaving project that took place <br />in the last several weeks. <br />Council President Buckholtz thanked Chief Dearden asked if there were any further comments. <br />There were none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />^ A motion to authorize an expenditure not to exceed $5,000 to the Walter Drane <br />Company for the recodification of Pillage ordinances <br />Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize an expenditure not to exceed <br />$5,000 to the Walter Drane Company for the recodification of Village ordinances. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There was none <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />^ Senior Snow Removal <br />Mrs. Mills said we decided that we would extend the contract for one more year because we have <br />the ability to have a 2-year contract with these snowplowers. <br />Mrs. Cinco said we were fearful that the 3 lower bidders knowing that the highest bidder would <br />up their bids this year if we went out for bid again. <br />Dr. Parker said we thought we would be no further ahead, probably. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked Mr. Diemert, are we just exercising our option? Does it <br />require a vote? <br />Mr. Diemert answered yes [to both questions]. <br />
