Caucus/Regular Council Mtg. 7-14-03 Page 20 Mrs. Cinco said this was discussed at both Safety & Service and Finance-and recommended. Mrs. Mills said maybe Chief Dearden should explain that-especially with the age of the amplifiers. _t Chief Dearden said the breakdown is approximately $400,000 of the total cost is to replace 2 amplifier boxes at the traffic signal at S.O.M. and Aintree. The amplifiers we currently use are approximately 15 years old and don't always work to the potential that they are supposed to. The remaining funds are to replace the 3 southbound loops and pavement at S.O.M. and Wilson Mills. These were the only ones that weren't replaced with the repaving project that took place in the last several weeks. Council President Buckholtz thanked Chief Dearden asked if there were any further comments. There were none. Roll Call: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Expenditure Authorized ^ A motion to authorize an expenditure not to exceed $5,000 to the Walter Drane Company for the recodification of Pillage ordinances Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize an expenditure not to exceed $5,000 to the Walter Drane Company for the recodification of Village ordinances. Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion. There was none Roll Call: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Expenditure Authorized ^ Senior Snow Removal Mrs. Mills said we decided that we would extend the contract for one more year because we have the ability to have a 2-year contract with these snowplowers. Mrs. Cinco said we were fearful that the 3 lower bidders knowing that the highest bidder would up their bids this year if we went out for bid again. Dr. Parker said we thought we would be no further ahead, probably. Council President Buckholtz asked Mr. Diemert, are we just exercising our option? Does it require a vote? Mr. Diemert answered yes [to both questions].
