Public Hearing re Ord. 2003-18
7-14-03
Page 3
envision is there will be this underpass area; we are preserving parkland which is essentially the
streambed that lies there and then on the north slope of that stream, that park area is where these
houses are projected to go. So, ideally, if voters agree, we think this really will be a very dramatic
setting and one that will be conducive to this type of residential use on land that otherwise had never
been developed and most of which had been zoned for some commercial development. We think in
this particular area it helps to reinforce the residential character of S.O.M. Center Road that we want
to maintain.
Council President Buckholtz said since we had such a nice crowd tonight it would be a good
opportunity to show off some of the pictures, the artist's renderings that had been done. So in case
you've had an opportunity to see that horrific dugout. area, be patient and use your imagination---
there's some interesting things to come.
Mayor Rinker said the first picture that Mr. Samac put up (with rooftops); this was the artist's
depiction of what that site might look like across the way (looking from the east side of the road to
the west) in the vicinity of this underpass and it shows you just the relationship of between where
those houses would go, the roadway and the underpass area.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there were any comments from the audience or Council
regarding this Public Hearing.
There were no comments.
• And any other matter before Council
There were no other matters before Council.
ADJOURNMENT
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Riter, made a motion to adjourn.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
The meeting adjourned at •OS p.m.
l
WILLIAM BUCKHOLTZ, COUNCIL PRESIDENT 1___ ~~_._~
BRUCE G. RINKEI~, MAYOR
.. ~t9~nnCv~ ~
DONNA J. R N, CLERK OF COUNCIL
~.
