Special Council Meeting
9-29-03
Page 4
^'~ Mr. Marrie said we talked about this before because I remember being very vocal about it--let's
get the report of what we hired them for so we know where we stand now and then talk about the
future. Right now, we're trying to put everything in one basket and it's not working. We don't
even know where we are at.
Council President Buckholtz said I understand that; I will make sure the report gets out to
everybody. It shows some areas where some monies could be saved; it shows some phone lines
that could be-what we are trying to do is organize a field trip of all of Council to go to
Warrensville Heights. They are someone who just finished doing the big project. It's not like
there is any hidden material or information, there's also no incredible revealing facts in the
report. My mistake for not distributing it but it's not earthshaking at this point. It inventories all
our stuff, what we had. Part of that I did with them part of going into specific departments and
looking at specific computers and how computers were set up-I actually went with a couple of
the guys; we looked at what kinds of lines are coming in and out of the buildings and so forth.
So, there's nothing really earthshaking in the report but everybody needs to have it. I will make
sure it is in everybody's hands this week.
Mr. Marrie said obviously Chief Mohr had the same problem you [addressing Mr. Riter] did;
that's why he brought it up. He went through a similar scenario and also a scenario that "what if'
in an emergency where it's this and no one is getting to talk to anyone else.
Mr. Riter said I am dialing....
Council President Buckholtz said I just call their cell phones and I get them all the time.
Mr. Riter said I try to go through the operator and through their offices and that kind of thing
rather than bothering them on their cell phone----
~-- ----
Council President Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco and others said I just call them on their cell phone and
they answer on their first ring.
Council President Buckholtz said I wasn't thinking of that; I am thinking of a technology
upgrade in a much different way just in terms of a network and aserver---but you are
absolutely right.
Mr. Riter said I thought November might be an appropriate time.
Council President Buckholtz said I still want to pursue the idea of they were going to set up an
initial meeting because Warrensville is someone who picked up a lot of bells and whistles----
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any further discussion.
Mrs. Roman mentioned that Doug Metzung's father-in-law passed away.
Council President Buckholtz said on the report, so it is not misconstrued, I wasn't disappointed
_ ,-
with the technology report and it's not that I am disappointed with the work that the company
