ROUGHDRAET -NOT REVIEWED OR APPROVED BY COUNCIL
10-20-03
Regular Council Meeting
'~ Page 20
Mr. Christian said but the truth is, Mr. Mayor, that during those meetings everybody was told that
that's where those things would stop and that's what it was. That is what everybody agreed to and
that's the way it was left. That's the way it was. That's the way Council said it would be; Council
took a vote.
Mayor Rinker said if you want to go back through the minutes with me, I'd be more than happy to
take you on that tour. You name the time and place and I will take it. We'll sit down and we'll look
at them together. All of them. Ok? Come on down and I will go through them all with you.
Mr. Marquardt asked, look at what?
Mayor Rinker said minutes of all the open meetings that we had. We had at least 6 different
meetings, town hall meetings where people came, we had Planning and Zoning Commission, we had
Citizen's Advisory Commission and ultimately came to this Council and with nary a word, it was
voted on. So, I have no problems with this. And you can laugh all you want. I have no regard for
that. It is ludicrous; it is hypocrisy.
Mr. Marquardt giggled no; it's hypocrisy when you make a big deal about informing the residents
and the decision has been made----
,- - ~ Mayor Rinker said and I am not sure, Mr. Marquardt, that you have the ear of too many residents.
Mr. Marquardt said no communication.....
Mayor Rinker said that is form over substance.....
Mr. Marquardt said there was communication made that this change was going to be made to any of
the residents after the big discussion---prior to the prior vote------so---that's ahypocrisy----
Mayor Rinker said I think you are in the distinct inordinate people that don't believe that most
people have wanted this and have been----
Mr. Marquardt said that is not the issue---
Mayor Rinker said I think that it's because it is inconvenient to you that you are pointing it out now.
You can laugh all you want; that has been my observation, historical.
Council President Buckholtz said if we have no further comments from the audience, I need a
motion to go into Executive Session for personnel matters.
EXECUTNE SESSION FOR PERSONNEL MATTERS.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to go into executive session to discuss personnel
~ matters.
