')
draft
MA~'FIELD VILLAGE
TORNADO WARNING SIREN
PROCEDURE FOR ACTIVATION
DRAFT
The siren will be activated for 3 minutes whenever a TORNADO WARNING has been
issued by the National Weather Service for Cuyahoga County. Remember a TORNADO
WARNING means that an actual tornado has been sighted.
When there is a Severe Storm Alert in Cuyahoga County on duty fire personnel and on
duty dispatchers will monitor the National Weather Service Alert Radio for weather
warning activation. Personnel will continue to monitor until the National Weather
Service has cancelled the Severe Weather Alert.

If there is a Tornado warning in Cuyahoga County (an actual Tornado has been sighted)
the Officer in Charge will inform Dispatch of this warning and instruct the dispatcher to
activate the warning siren. (This may have already been accomplished with reports from
other sources received by the Mayfield Dispatch Center). Notification of the Fire Chief,
Police Chief and Mayor is mandatory if the siren is activated.
~3~it'E
