"' be the last scheduled meeting of the year, we will take a little break, then we will get back to <br />business. <br />Council recessed at approximately 8:10 p.m. and reconvened at approximately 8:45 p.m. Chief <br />Mohr left the meeting to join those who went to the Fire Station for a reception for Gino <br />Carcioppolo. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS: <br />Parks & Recreation - Mr. Thomas said we took 57 people to the Cuyahoga Valley Train Ride. <br />On Friday, December 5, approximately 200 attended the Teen Event at the High School. We <br />brought in over our expenditures. Winter Youth Excursions are coming up for K-5th grade. He <br />cited the scheduled excursions. The MBA basketball program for boys and girls is in full swing. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Activities Committee -Mrs. Roman said the Committee has requested Council approval for the <br />Appreciation Dinner. Invitations will be sent around the beginning of January. A Winter Solstice <br />will beheld this Friday at 8 p.m. at the Wetlands after the Menorah Lighting at 7 p.m. Activities <br />Committee members will be helping out the Wetlands Committee. <br />Architectural Review Board -Mrs. Mills reported for Mr. Samac since she attended the <br />,_\\-~ meeting. Mr. Carney is still in the process of trying to obtain a permit for his building. <br />Board of Appeals did not meet. <br />Cemetery -Mrs. Mills said the Horticulture students are not working until after the first of the <br />year. Weather permitting, then they will be repairing some of the. tombstones. She placed <br />wreaths on the Cemetery. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Mr. Riter said CAC met last Monday evening. We discussed the last <br />2020 report which will next go to Planning & Zoning. We also discussed the condominiums just <br />south of the apartments and how they got built there when we didn't have a Planned Residential <br />District. A couple of the committee members did not understand how that could get built without <br />that type of zoning. Bernie was at that meeting and the explanation was that because that <br />property was zoned for apartments, the developer was able to do apartments for less and less was <br />that type of condos. We also discussed the new concrete on S.O.M. and they will be sealing the <br />road; salt will be used very gingerly so as not to damage the concrete. <br />Commission on Aging -Mrs. Mills read the report from Mrs. Kalina (attached.) The COA will <br />not meet at all during January because of the Community Room renovations. <br />Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said Safety and Service met December 1St and discussed <br />Worton Park homeowners association's new sign, the final draw on 2002 fire grant (which is <br />$5,200) and Don Porter's replacement which we witnessed tonight. We will be going out for <br />_,!' rubbish bids. That is on the agenda for Council. We discussed the height of driveways and the <br />driveway aprons on S.O.M. Center Road. <br />~~ <br />
