Introduced <br />by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Jerome, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2015-05. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked, does this have anything to do with the Phase II as well, <br />or no? <br />Mr. Cappello replied, yes, it's the same one. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked, any questions? There were none. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />• First Readinp- of Resolution No. 2015-06, entitled, "A resolution of intent to enter into <br />an agreeinent with Cuyahoga County and Cuyahoga County Einergency Communications <br />Systein (CECOMS) and authorizing the Mayor and President of Council to enter into an <br />agreement with Cuyahoga County for the transfer of responsibility for emergency <br />dispatch from Mayfield Village to the Cuyahoga County Emergency Communications <br />Systein (CECOMS)." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2015-06. <br />Council President Buckholtz asked, any discussion? <br />Mr. Saponaro replied, yes. Here's the whole point of what we want to do here in terms of <br />Finance and then you guys jump in. We looked at this. We asked the Chiefs to come to us <br />with a recommendation of what they wanted. How it's done, how they looked at <br />everything. They gave us a memo that basically broke down from technology to cost to <br />everything, why it inakes sense to go with CECOMS versus the other ones. <br />Froin a Finance standpoint, this would be a three-year $168,000, which is a huge savings <br />over what we are currently paying with no capital cost involved. So over the three year life <br />of the term, you are talking about $504,000 which is not much inore than what we pay <br />during the course of one year today. The other thing I want to bring up is that because of <br />where we are at coming into this process, the Chiefs will have greater leverage and ability <br />to guide the process, be a part of it and also transfer what they currently do successfully for <br />our residents into the program so that it's done as a model for the program. Maybe not an <br />official model, but they will be training them on how to do certain things. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Chief Edelman reported, throughout this discussion, there were two overriding factors that <br />kept coming up that kept drawing us back to CECOMS.
