Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, May 18, 2015 <br />Page 9 <br />talked about safety of residents sitting on the curb. You suggested teinporary barriers. That's <br />soinething we migllt want to look into. Chief Edelman agreed that it would not be a bad idea. <br />Mr. Jerome will coordinate with Chief Edelman and Bill Thoinas. <br />Finance Committee -Mr. Saponaro reported, we had our Caucus on May 4' and Committee <br />meeting this evening. We had 7 items on the agenda which were all approved and inoved to <br />Council's agenda for this evening. <br />Historical Society - Mrs. Mills reported, Gates Mills School visited the Historical House on <br />May 15"'. There were 21 students. Lander Road is scheduled for tomorrow and May 260'. There <br />will be 50 students at each one of those sessions and then we have fulfilled our commitment with <br />the Boaxd of Education for the tours. We had about 360 students go through. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Jerome reported, Hillerest Council of Councils met in <br />April. We discussed deer culling and ways to keep deer out of your yard. A gentleinan from the <br />Ohio Division of Wildlife came and spoke for a couple of hours on the topic and gave some <br />suggestions and more or less options for communities to give to the residents to be able to get rid <br />of deer whether lethal or non-lethal. Also, four officers were installed. Patsy Mills is the <br />Treasurer. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt reported, Ordinance Review met on April 14u'. <br />We discussed Ordinance 2015-08 and 2015-09 which breaks up the Service and Building <br />Deparhnent. They were combined in the old ordinance. This is just an update and revision to <br />separate the two functions. <br />Planning and Zoning - There was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Recreation Board - There was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Commission on Aging - Mrs. Mills reported, our next meeting is June 18I'. At the last meeting, <br />we discussed the up and coming bus trips. They are going to Phipps Conservatory next week. <br />That should be a very nice trip. <br />SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Information & Technologv - There was no meeting. There is no report. <br />Records Commission - Mrs. Mills reported, Shred Day was Saturday the 16'. We shredded 359 <br />boxes, or 6,500 tons. It was very successful. The Certified Public Records training session is this <br />Friday, May 22°d from 10:00-1:00 here at the Civic Center. <br />Communitv and Economic Development - There was no ineeting. There is no report.
