Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, May 18, 2015 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />STANDING COIVIIiII'I'TEE REPORTS: <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Mills reported, we served approximately 546 people at the <br />Pancake Breakfast. We had 52 volunteers which was very very nice. Our next event is June <br />13t", 50's Night. There are still a few openings for volunteers if anyone is interested in signing <br />up. Danielle and I would appreciate that. <br />Aa-chitectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli reported, the Architectural Review Board met last <br />Thursday. We had our first look at the new Community Rooin. There were soine suggestions <br />and ideas that went back and forth between the designers and the Board. We will be meeting <br />again in two weeks to look at some other revisions and ideas. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Marrelli stated, Board of Appeals will meet for the first time this year <br />tomorrow evening for a fence issue against the high school property. <br />Cemete?-y - Mrs. Mills reported, the Garden Club has planted a lilac tree in memory of John <br />Barni. Roger Reinec continues to do his pruning and trimming. <br />Citizen's Advisorv Board - Mr. Marrie reported, we met on April 27t'. The oath of office was <br />adininistered to a new member, Paula Lear and returning members Kay Phillips and Joan <br />Catalano. There was a fairly lengthy environmental presentation by Judy Dearden. She is from <br />Highland Heights. She heads their Green Task Force. 'Their mission is environmental education <br />and awareness. It's too long to go into everything she said, but it was a very thorough <br />presentation. There were some eye-opening situations about chemicals and the iteins we use <br />every day, mostly because they are harmful to the environment. Ms. Wolgamuth provided an <br />update on the Corrununity Room. There were a lot of questions on that. We gave the update on <br />the Council items. Also, we were updated about the Eastgate/Meadowood sewer systems. Mrs. <br />Jay asked if anytlung else was going to be done on the Greenway. Ms. Wolgamuth updated her <br />that there were four benches purchased and will be placed soon. Mary Singer requested <br />assistance for the Memorial Day event at Wlutehaven. They still need volunteers Saturday to <br />place the flags. There's a lot of veterans in all three cemeteries, but mostly Whitehaven, <br />approximately 6,000. The presentation and memorial service will be at 1:00 on Sunday. Mayor <br />Rinker is the speaker. The next meeting is Tuesday, May 26th. <br />Drainage and Infrastructure - Mr. Jerome reported, Drainage and Infrastructure met before <br />Caucus on May 4th. We removed a couple items from the agenda that we felt we could no longer <br />work on. There are a couple of items we are moving foi-ward, one of which is on tonight's <br />agenda. Finance Corrunittee approved that this evening. There are a couple other iteins where <br />new people have come with new drainage problems. We will discuss them at the next meeting <br />scheduled before Caucus on June 1" at 6:00 p.m. <br />Safefy and Service - Mr. Jerome reported, the Committee discussed leaf pick-up and bicycle <br />signage on SOM Center which Patsy is going to look into. Mr. Saponaro continued, they also <br />discussed people sitting on the curbs during the July 4th celebration. Mr. Jerome stated, we
