Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council
Monday, December 21, 2015
Page 18
of you who came out to show your support. I truly appreciate all of the support and
encouragement you have given us. We hope that it will continue. I would also like to recognize
Judge Bozza and Prosecutor Cicero who came out this evening. We all appreciate your being
here.
I am honored and humble to be taking office as the next Mayor of Mayfield Village, Ohio. I
know that I have got some really big shoes to fill. Rest assured, I have already rolled up my
sleeves and I have begun to get to know the system a little bit better. I am definitely looking
forward to serving Mayfield Village for the next few years as Mayor of Mayfield Village. I am
also looking forward to working with all of our fine Council members, Department Heads, staff
here as well as working with all of the many wonderful people who are proud to call Mayfield
Village our home. We share a true love for Mayfield Village and a respect for Mayfield Village.
With that in common, I truly believe we can accomplish great things over the course of the next
four years and beyond. Special mention to Bill Marquardt who could not be here tonight. I
spoke with him by phone this afternoon. He is making a wonderful comeback and I look
forward to the time very soon when we can all welcome Mr. Marquardt back to his role here on
Council.
Thank you again for coming tonight. I hope everyone here has the opportunity over this holiday
season to spend some wonderful time with friends and family. Certainly I hope you have time to
spend after the meeting for the little social we are having for some conversation. I wish
everyone a Happy New Year. I look forward to working with all of you over the next four years.
Thank you.
Council President Marrie stated, last but not least, I have the pleasure of reading a Resolution
thanking Mayor Rinker for 28 years of dedicated service to our Village.
Resolution No. 2015-19, entitled, "A Resolution thanking Mayor Rinker for 28 years of
dedicated service to our Village." Introduced by Council as a Whole.
Mr. Jerome, seconded by Mr. Saponaro, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 2015-19.
Council President Marrie asked, any discussion? There was none.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Resolution Adopted
Y OTHER MATTERS
Dr. Parker stated, I would just like to say to Bruce after so many years, we have been doing
closing comments. For years we would go around the horn. Most of the times you pass, or say
something trite, but I just wanted to let you know that it has been an honor and pleasure to work
with you. You have worked hard to help our community to be the best it could be. Not to
mention our designation as best community to live in more than once. You have unselfishly
