Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, February 15, 2010 <br />Page 9 <br />. 1Vlotion to acknowledge receipt of the financial reports for January, 2010 and to <br />approve of same as submitted. <br />Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to acknowledge receipt of the financial <br />reports for January, 2010 and to approve of same as submitted. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None ? Receipt and Approval of <br />' Financial Reports for January 2010 <br />Acknowledged <br />Motion to accept bid for a dispatch communication system for the new police facility <br />from B&C Communications in the amount of $96,510.00. <br />Mr. Saponaro, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to accept bid for a dispatch <br />communication system for the new police facility from B&C Communications in the amount of <br />$96,510.00. <br />Chief Dearden stated that we talked about this at Finance. Chief Dearden provided a recap of the <br />bids for this project. Bids were opened up on Friday afternoon. Representatives of the Police and <br />Fire Department reviewed the bids relative to the materials quoted and the scope of work <br />conducted as part of the project. After review, it is Chief Dearden's recommendation that <br />Council approve the bid of B&C Communications as the lowest and best bidder. <br />Mayor Rinker asked Chief Dearden to identify the other bids so that people have an <br />understanding of the range. <br />Chief Dearden reported that there were two other bids received, one from Northcoast Two-Way <br />Radio Communications in the amount of $130,763.50 and the other bid from Independence <br />Communications in the amount of $99,481.00. <br />Mayor Rinker asked, in effe:,t having your department review this you are satisfied with all of <br />these specs? It's not only competitive, but it meets all of the needs? <br />Chief Dearden replied, yes. <br />Council President Pro Tem Marrie asked, this is the company that has done work for both you <br />and the Fire Department? Chief Dearden replied, B&C has done work for both the Fire Department and the Police <br />Department. , <br />Council President Pro Tem Marrie asked, and you both have been satisfied with that? <br />Chief Dearden replied, we have been satisfied with their work and their expertise in the area.
