The codification services they provide for cross-
referencing, is something that we could never do internally. The copying is at a penny a page.
We could never duplicate that. The copying cost is really a very small portion of what that
amount is. It really is how they axe able to take our Ordinances, put them into the website, put
them into our books and then do the cross-referencing which is throughout all the codifications.
There is a cross-reference. It is a big task. That's what we determined when we were looking at
this. We also determined that the cost of this is very, very fair in comparison.
Council President Buckholtz asked, when you say cross-referencing, is this also searchable?
Ms. Calta replied, on the web you can search it. The format that they have is the format the
company has. They can't change it.
Council President Buckholtz asked if this is a lot less than we were paying before.
Mr. Saponaro replied, it is in conjunction with the amount of ordinances passed. The more that
we pass, the higher that would be and so on.
Council President Buckholtz asked, the police also need this for every police car?
Lieutenant Edelman replied, they need a hard copy.
Roll Call: AYES: All Motion Carried
NAYS: None Expenditure Authorized
