Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council <br />Monday, March 21, 2011 <br />Page 7 <br />saplings. This is also in conjunction with our bid to be a USA Tree City. Regarding our Poster <br />Contest for the 4ffi Graders in the Mayfield School District, we will have a program on May 23ra <br />honoring the children that created the posters. We will have a reception for them and special <br />speakers. We generally give the children something such as a free pool pass like we did last year <br />or something along those lines because it's important. Since we started this about four years ago, <br />it's actually become a part of the school curriculum. It's a good thing. I know the Art teacher <br />and Civics teacher definitely like this project. Our next meeting is a week from tomorrow, <br />March 29tn <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Marrelli reported that the Board of Appeals will meet tomorrow night. <br />There was no meeting last month. <br />Cemeterv - There was no report. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Mr. Marrie reported that Citizen's Advisory Board will meet <br />tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. <br />Commission on Aging - There is no report. <br />Safety and Service - Council President Buckholtz stated that all of the items discussed in Safety <br />and Servic;e are on the Council agenda. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Saponaro reported that Finance Committee met in Caucus on March <br />14ffi and this evening for our regular voting meeting. We had 26 expenditures on the agenda that <br />were approved. An additional expenditure was deferred. We had 9 Ordinances and Resolutions <br />that were recommended for approval. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills reported that on April gth we will have St. Francis' 3`d grade <br />classes touring the Historical House which will probably be somewhere between 60 and 70 <br />students. Last month we had Dr. Price from Mayfield Schools give us a talk on Abraham <br />Lincoln which was very very interesting. On April 13th at the Community Room we will be <br />having a discussion on Millionaire's Row on Euclid Avenue. If you would like to attend, we staxt <br />at 7:30 in the Community Room. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - There is no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Thomas reported that on March 3rd the Annual Meeting of the Boaxd of <br />Trustees was held. Mr. Davis, a representative from Gates Mills, made the motion to have <br />President George Hughes, Vice-President Kathy Sbrocco, Treasurer John Folkman and Secretary <br />Kay Vincent. They went into their Regular Meeting immediately after that and-Phil Weinberg <br />reported about the Hot Shot program held for elementary students at the February 16th Varsity <br />game. They have 40 girls signed up for the Cheerleading Program. The second session of the <br />High School Floor Hockey started on March 12th and will go until Ma?y 17t'. They have 41 <br />players for grades 1 and 2 and 102 players for the floor hockey for the 4t and St" graders. The <br />next meeting will be scheduled for Thursday, April7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Board office.
