1VIINiJTES OF TAE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village Civic Hall <br />Monday, December 19, 2011- 8:00 p.m. <br />The .Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session irnmediately following the <br />Annual Meeting of the Mayfield Community Improvement Corporation Meeting on Monday, <br />December 19, 2011 at 8:10 p.m. at Mayfield Village Civic Hall. Council President Buckholtz <br />called the meeting to order. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mrs. Mills, <br />- NIr. Marrie, Dr. Parker, and Mr. Saponaro <br />, <br />Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Wynne, Mr. Diemert <br />Chief Edelman, Mr. Marrelli, Mr. Metzung, Chief Mohr, <br />W. Thomas, Mr. Dinardo, Mrs. Wolgamuth, <br />Mrs. Kalina and Mrs. Betsa <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />OPEN PORTION . .; <br />5-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state their name and address. <br />Alan Siewart <br />Urban Forester <br />Ohio Department of Natural Resources <br />Division of Forestry <br />Good evening, my name is Alan Siewart. I am the Urban Forester for the Ohio Department of <br />Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and I appreciate this opporlunity to come here this evening <br />and say thank you. We have recently completed a Tree Commission Academy here at Mayfield <br />Village and I just wanted to sa.y thank you. <br />The Tree Commission Academy is an award-winni.ng program developed by the Division of Forestry <br />to help Service Directors and Tree Commission members better understand their duties to manage <br />their city's urban forest resource. It's a 50-hour training program over four classes throughout the <br />year. We began here last February or March with our freshman class and just graduated our senior <br />class here at the beginning of December. ? <br />Two things I would like to do tonight is first of all, I would like to present to your Service Director <br />who is a graduate of Tree Commission Academy, present his Bachelor's certificate in recognition. <br />That's Doug Metzung. He attended the program. Doug, congratulations. Doug now is a full <br />member of the Tree Commission Academy with all of the rights, privileges and responsibilities <br />therein. Welcome aboazd Doug. Thank you.
