Minutes of a Public Hearing
October 6, 2010
Page 35 ;
?
Great Compromise was the Senate where no matter how many people in a State, they've
got two Senators and those two Senators,and the Senate can override and block any law,
any Bill, that the populous might want. And you might also think about what you've all
learned in Civics lessons is the voters are not the final say-so, even on the President of the
United States. You have an Electoral College and the Electoral College is there to
protect us from what the majority may wrongfully perceive or do. And those are the
fundamentals of our Constitution that we all live under.
Mayor Rinker: If I can, how about a round of applause for our speakers.
We will take a break, but I welcome all of you to stick around so we can talk more informally.
The public hearing adjourned at approximately 9:00.
Respectfully submitted,
?
Mary . Aa Clerk of Council
