DRAFT
Regular Council Meeting
9/26/05
Page 5
portion of the resurfacing should be done and people should be able to obviously enjoy the new
roadway by the beginning of November, end of October.
The other thing would be that today Doug and Mr. Cappello met with the County Board of
Health. They completed our stormwater outfall, our MS4 inventory which we came into an
agreement about two years ago. The amount of work that was done was tremendous for the
price, so Mr. Cappello is pretty happy. That meets one of our obligations for their Phase II
requirements.
Dr. Parker asked Mr. Cappello if they are still on schedule for the completion of the entire
Wilson Mills project. Mr. Cappello responded that as of today, they are saying yes. The worst
case scenario is that they will have to reopen the road by the deadline of December. They might
have to come back in the spring and finish up, but his understanding is that they will have to
finish the road by the timeframe in December.
Mayor Rinker requested clarification on who "they" are. Mr. Cappello responded that it is a
County project. The contractor is Burton Scot and according to the agreement, they do have to
open the road by the middle of December, so if they are done or not, they will have to make
provisions to have that road open.
Mrs. Cinco asked if there is some way that the County can let the residents know when this is
going to be done since there were so many complaints when they did the grinding. No one was
aware of it. There has. been no communication. They at least need to let the residents know,
especially on Echo so we can get out. Mr. Cappello indicated that he will contact the County and
have them give an update like they did before with the flyers. Mayor Rinker indicated that we
will send flyers around. Mayor Rinker said if they can keep us in the loop so that we can send
word around, we would be happy to do it. Mrs. Cinco added that it was an inconvenience to a lot
of people.
Dr. Parker asked if there is any truth or information available regarding the bridge over the
Chagrin River. He has heard that it is going to be replaced. When is that going to start? Mr.
Cappello responded that the last indications were spring of 2006. Mr. Brett stated that it is going
to go to sale in May of 2006 and will be in full closure from June 15a' to August 15a' and it will
go until October 15th
PROPERTY MANAGER - Lloyd Chapman
Mr. Chapman indicated that on October 8th, Doug Metzung and the Service Department and
himself will be touring each of the rental properties to put a face with a name where the tenants
are concerned to look for safety issues and general conditions of properties to familiarize
themselves better with them.
Tomorrow there is continuing dialogue and meetings with City Architecture. We will be taking
a look at some of their preliminary thoughts and ideas and providing some feedback to them so
