DRAFT .
Regular Council Meeting
9/26/05
Page 4
BUILDING -John Marrelli
John Marrelli reported that first of all you may have noticed that the first unit at the Parkledge
SOM Court Development has begun. Sublots 2 and 3 are being built. The foundations are in and
that will be the first unit and also the model which we are hoping to have done within six to eight
weeks. It should be shelled in probably by the beginning of December. You may be able to walk
through it and see the quality of work that they have there.
John Marrelli also reported that if you went over to Village Food Mart for coffee today, you
could not get any because they moved across the street and when the phone lines go in tomorrow
or Wednesday, they will do a final inspection and they will be officially open in the Carney
Building.
With regard to 700 Beta, if you have driven down there, you see the bulldozers working in the
front yard there. The parking lot project across the front is being done. There will be some new
landscaping, some parking lot lights, a new parking area. The front of the building should be
underway in about a couple of weeks, so that's an entire new look on the front of that building.
With regard to 600 Beta, Mr. Marrelli was in contact with the owner of Amir Foods who is
looking to occupy 10,000 square feet in that building to make his pita breads and salads and
things like that and we are hoping that that goes through smoothly with their talks between the
owner and himself and welcome him to Mayfield Village very soon.
Mr. Marrelli stated that the Mayor mentioned the 30th, the planning workshop. We are going to
try to get together at 7:15 in the morning and get a caravan or a carpool. We have to check in at
8:00, find parking downtown, etc. We will then see who are the drivers and who are the riders.
Two more items, the Progressive Beta Drive claims center facility is back on track. The
Planning Commission met a couple of weeks ago. Mr. Marrelli has another report for that, but
some site changes were made due to wetlands issues. The site changes included leaving the back
end wooded and moving the detention pond down to the front. The sideyard got squeezed from
30 feet.to 20. A couple of parking spaces were moved around. That was basically it on that
project. Also, a new project came up on the data center at Campus II where there is going to be a
lighting upgrade, a. security office and a new security fence around the bunker. The Planning
Commission met and also went over those drawings, approved the internal traffic change so that
drivers have to check through a security point to enter the data center area:
ENGINEER -Tom Cappello
Mr. Cappello wanted to bring everyone up to date on Wilson Mills: He spoke with the ,
contractor, they should be finished paving the ground surface, they should be finished with their
base repair, joint repair and paving by the end of October. The road will not be opened though
until the slope stabilization portion of the project is~done in the Gates Mills section, but that
