DRAFT
Regular Council Meeting
9/26/05
Page 8
now we can clearly include everyone as we were going back and forth, we can include everyone
in that notification. That's October 19d'.
POLICE - Lt. Edelman
Lt. Edelman indicated that there was nothing to report.
PARKS & RECREATION -Bill Thomas
Mr. Thomas reported that the Third Annual Wildcat Teen Halloween event for our 6`h, 7`t' and 8d'
graders will be held at the high school on Friday, October 28d' from 7:00-10:00. We will have
games, raffles, prizes, music, a DJ, karaoke. New this year, we are planning a dunk tank. We
will have that hopefully in the field house. Principal Susan Beatty has indicated that she will sit
on the seat. We are looking for about six individuals that are very, either popular or not popular
at the high school level. So, we are really excited about having that. It will be on the 28t1i.
Planning is underway for our Winter 2005/2006 brochure.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Activities Committee - No report.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Marrelli said the Architectural Review Board met on
Thursday, September 22nd . There were three items on the agenda, one item was the patio room
on Thornapple that was approved. Another item was the Progressive bunker security office
which was approved and the third was the exterior remodeling of the Whitehaven office building
at 61 S SOM. That issue was tabled. The Board is going to meet with the owner, architect and
builder on-site on Thursday morning to look at some issues there with the details on the drawings
versus what is actually out in the field. I will give them some insight and opportunity to tweak
the drawings a little bit.
Board of Appeals - Mr. Marrelli said the Board of Appeals met on September 20`h. We had one
request for an oversized banner on the rear of 730 Beta Drive which is the Beta Center. The
request was for asix-month leasing banner and the Board approved the variance for asix-month
period. It will be red with white lettering. We are hoping that will bring some new business to
Beta Drive.
Cemetery - Mr. Saponaro reported that we have ordered the gravel for the driveway and we will
be installing that in the next coming weeks.
Citizen's Advisory Board - Mr. Saponaro asked that the minutes of the Citizen's Advisory
Board which were submitted to Council be attached to the minutes since the information is
pertinent.
