DRAFT
Regular Council Meeting
9/26/05
Page 9
What you do need to know is that the next meeting is October 17th in the back room. Jim Mason
is the Chair and the rest of the Committee has put together a Candidate's Night for the upcoming
election and that is going to take place on November 2nd at the Mayfield Village Civic Center at
7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Mills indicated that she has started to gather a contingent of Beautification Committee
workers, but she needs some direction and a meeting can be called.
Commission on A~in~ -Mrs. Mills read the report from Eunice Kalina, Human Services
Director, attached.
Drainage & Infrastructure/Stormwater Mgt. -Mrs. Cinco indicated that she spoke with Mr.
Cappello this morning and he is going to give the report.
Mr. Cappello reported that we are planning on advertising for bids tomorrow on two projects.
One would be the Beecher's Brook Stream Improvement and the other one would be the Storm
Sewer Extension at 813 Hanover. He and Mr. Metzung are going to meet with three contractors
to do a site visit of the other projects which do not need to go out to public bid, but we do need to
get three proposals out. We are going to actually walk through each project and go over the
scope with these contractors tomorrow.
Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco reported that Safety and Service met on September 12th. At
this time, the signal service loop replacement at the corner of Route 91 and Wilson Mills was
approved. We will await the bid for the one at 91 by Heinen's because it was explained to us that
those new lanes are working and the Police Chief did want to leave them that way, but we do
need to get left turn lights and new signals at that intersection. Mr. Buckholtz asked, Seneca;
Aintree? Mrs. Cinco responded, yes.
Mrs. Cinco indicated that senior snow removal was also discussed. Also discussed was the
equipment for capital improvements for the Fire Department. At that time, there were concerns
with bike path safety. Mr. Metzung explained that it is being handled. Tech on Call was
discussed later that evening and there is an item that was going to be on the agenda tonight, but it
was deferred to Finance.
Finance Committee -Mrs. Mills reported that we had 27 items on the agenda tonight. Of those
27, we are asking for a deferral of action until we get some legal expertise on Tech on Call. It is
a matter of wordage on that. Another one is Ordinance 2005-18, an emergency ordinance
authorizing and directing the Mayor to enter into a development agreement with Progressive
Insurance. We want that action deferred. Other than that, everything was approved as we go
through the minutes here.
Historical Society -Mrs. Mills read the report which is attached to these Minutes.
