Regular Council Meeting
10/24/05
Page 16
Mr. Buckholtz asked for an explanation. Mr. Metzung indicated that this is the north tunnel
which experienced three blocks that were set low. They held water. Great Lakes Construction, in
an effort to correct that problem, was going to pave the area. Mr. Metzung asked that the whole
box be paved because the floor of the box would have been very slippery had it just been left in
its concrete state. The cost of the $5,000 is being shared. We are paying approximately $4,000.
They are paying approximately $1,000.00. It is $880 something I believe.
Mr. Buckholtz asked if they were repairing what they did wrong and if we are paving the whole
thing. Mr. Marquardt asked if this was for the extra paving. Mr. Saponaro indicated that we had
approved a certain material to be used. Looking back, we determined it was not the best because
it was very slippery and there is foot traffic. Something needed to be done in order to make it
safe. This is the remediation to it. In essence, they did not do anything wrong. Mr. Marquardt
asked how this tied in with the blocks being too low. Mr. Metzung indicated that they had
several blocks that they needed to correct because they held water, so they worked it together so
that they paid for their low blocks that were holding water and we paid for the rest. Mr.
Saponaro added that in the aggregate you are going to get a better price for it if you put two
projects into one.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
Before moving along to the next motions, Mrs. Mills advised that Mrs. Cinco will provide an
explanation of the meeting that will be November 1St. The next items are in reference to the
drainage and infrastructure problems.
The meeting is at 7:00 p.m. November 1St for all effected residents and their neighboring
residents. The Committee will be there, Mr. Cappello, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marrelli and Mr.
Metzung.
Mr. Buckholtz stated for the record that everyone signs off on these projects. Mr. Metzung
responded that everyone signs off to allow us to enter their property to assess and look over the
projects. He does not know if the form gives final approval for us to actually enter their property
and do the work or to be subject to help pay for it. Mrs. Cinco advised that those forms will be
available that night for the residents. There is language in the forms that discusses it. Mr.
Metzung does not know if the original form discusses the payment and things of that nature.
That is why there will be a meeting, to get everyone together and go through this. The new form
gives final approval. Mr. Buckholtz indicated after this meeting we will get everyone's
authorization and approval to move forward with these projects. Mrs. Cinco added their
cooperation and payment. This is something that we said we would do for the residents
originally. It worked out very well.
Mr. Buckholtz asked if everyone will be notified. Mrs. Cinco indicated that letters are going out
tomorrow morning. Mr. Buckholtz asked what happens if someone does not attend that meeting
and we need to move ahead with that project. Mrs. Cinco said we will go to get their signature.
Mrs. Cinco. hopes that the applicant will be responsible to go to that meeting, much like Ted
