Regular Council Minutes
1/24/OS
Page 14
increment that we'd be looking for a grant, trying to improve the loan component for Highland-
is that---
Mr. Brett said right. And the other thing that we are going to do is with Eastgate/Meadowood, we
are going to do Eastgate or Meadowood so lay that foundation and then spur off of it in the
following years.
Mayor Rinker said and realistically, whatever we commence, we will get done within the
following year.
Mrs. Cinco said also the next meeting will be February 10. And Mr. Saponaro reminded me that
there was some discussion with Council members at Large prior to the meeting with the idea of
alternating Chairman every year for that committee because it's always those same Council
people. Now I understand you want something on the Caucus-for the terms for the residents--
we are lucky we get those residents quite honestly. I don't know that we, you know, because
Tom Marsalis is fab and Jerry Catalano is very good at showing up but again it is always the
same Council people but we are going to look at the ordinance and we are going to look at some
of the things required. We have to decide how we are going to set up the applications for these
proj ects.
Council President Buckholtz said I think you guys are approaching it exactly what we had talked
about in the beginning. This is going to be a big part of what we do and I just made a note-like
Sewer Liaison Committee-which kind of dropped off here, actually should somehow be in sync
with Drainage & Infrastructure whether it becomes the same committee or it just becomes in
sync-well you see when we have to discuss those projects.
Mrs. Cinco said you should probably chair that one.
Council President Buckholtz said I'd be glad to; just make sure they get it. As far as terms, I
don't know if Donna brought that up, I like the rotating chairman idea but the terms just were
never put in the original ordinance. It might be a good idea just to have that.
Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said Safety & Service met January 10th. At that time we
discussed just about every item that is on the agenda tonight and that was in Finance so if there
are any questions as we go through those individual items, you can comment but there was not
one that the committee did not approve and forward to Finance.
Finance Committee - Mrs. Mills said I was asked to Chair the Finance Committee once again.
On our agenda tonight we had 26 items. Of those items, #14 we deferred action (about the bids
for the recreational development) and also we did #18 (an expenditure for some property that is in
Probate Court.) We did not discuss the ordinances 2005-01, 02, 03 and 04 because those are
right-of-ways. Everything else was approved tonight.
Mayor Rinker asked if Mrs. Mills was referencing Item "T" (on the Council agenda.)
Mrs. Roman said yes-in Executive Session; the Finance Committee said they will wait until
then.
