Regular Council Minutes
1/24/OS
Page 15
Historical Society - Mrs. Mills said 40 Mayfield Center students will be touring the Historical
House on February 22. The raffle quilt for the Ice Cream Social is on the quilt frame. We have
contracted for 2 quilts to be quilted. The Historical House is looking into the archives for
photographs for the Mayfield Board of Education and also the Landmarks Commission for the
Euclid Creek Watershed. It was very interesting; they were looking for old properties and
pictures of them and any histories that they could find because they were not very successful at
the Western Reserve Historical Society. So we do fulfill our purpose.
M.A.R.C. - Dr. Parker said there was no meeting in January; hence there is no report. The next
meeting will be February l Oth at the new Board office.
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt said there was no meeting.
Plannin%Z & Zoning - Mr. Marquardt said Planning & Zoning had a short meeting on January 3
where the lot split and consolidation at 457 S.O.M. Center Road was approved. There was a
Planning & Zoning Workshop on January 20; there was discussion on the Conditional Use
Permit for Progressive Insurance at 651 Beta Drive (this is the claims adjustment center that they
would like to put in.) There was one item, a lot split, that was tabled and there was discussion on
regional Special Use Permits-5 Special Use Permits-and all those items will be voted on
February 7 at the regular meeting.
Recreation Soard - Mr. Marrie said the Recreation Board met on the 19th. A couple of quick
ones: they went over and evaluated the Christmas Party and the Santa Claus Ride and so forth.
They also covered all the new offerings that we are going to have in spring/summer brochure
which will be all listed there. There also came in a suggestion that we offer a Ceramic Class for
seniors only a couple of mornings a week and Bill is checking into that with Spirit of Clay righ
up here on the corner. Next meeting is on February 16.
Council President Buckholtz addressed Dr. Parker and asked, will you be able to make that
meeting on February 16?
t
Dr. Parker said I will do my best.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
2020 Vision Committee - Mr. Saponaro said I talked to Eric and the meeting hasn't been set for
2020 but he is going to coordinate with Donna and then we will report back.
Information & Technologv - Mr. Marrie said we had our first meeting on January 19 and
couple of things to cover: the phone system is in and complete over in the Civic Center. The T-1
is starting to be worked on this week. Ron Davis came in and gave some instructions with
Donna. We are also going to put an insert in the Voice of the Village for residents about the
phone system and also the numbers where they will be at the Civic Center so I guess my way of
putting is so all of the phone calls don't arbitrarily come into Donna for all of it so they can call
the individual departments so we can operate a little better. Debbie and Donna are also looking
into a program that is going to provide a way to access files and information via the internet. We
basically covered where we are and where we are going and what we need to do. What do we
need and how are we going to get there. But basically what do you have now. So we are going to
