Regular Council Minutes
1/24/OS
Page 6
Council President Buckholtz said well we will provide the drawings. I think we will all go out
there and we will see if we can't come up with a win-win situation here. Thank you for bringing
it forward.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES:
Regular Council Meeting - December 6 2004
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to approve the minutes.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Minutes Approved
Organizational Council Meeting - January 3 2005
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Marrie, made a motion to approve the minutes.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Minutes Approved
Council President Buckholtz said I am going to welcome all the people that are here tonight; all
the residents and volunteers. We are going to ask you to sit through a bit of the meeting-not
that much-but the first item on New Business will be to approve your appoinhnents and then
you will be sworn in. At this time I will turn it over to Mayor Rinker for some comments.
Mr. Marrie asked, for the convenience of the people that are here, that they would be sworn in
first instead of sitting through the meeting.
Council President Buckholtz said we were going to go about 50-50 here-we were just going to
go through the committee reports.
Mayor Rinker said you will get no objection from me, after I get to give you my prepared
comments. You've already had a chance to get a little bit more of the ad lib.
COMMENTS FROIVI MAYOR RINKER
Mayor Rinker said in celebratory fashion, we really are glad to see you all here tonight. In fact, I
have been told by Donna to make the announcement for our annual volunteers' dinner which is
going to be February 26, here. And I will be very candid in saying, as we talked about planning
this event again this year-especially after last year, it is with no small amount of trepidation that
we think about having it at this venue. When we started the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, it
reminded us much more of the Salt Shed it once was than the Community Room it has become.
And I think we had maybe 4 to 4%2 dozen people who showed up, all very eager, all very
appreciative, and it has grown over the years. Especially in the last 2 or 3 years, new faces, old
faces that have stuck around--our numbers have really grown enormously and it is going to be a
crapshoot to see if we can get everyone in. We may not have tables, we may just have little
