Regular Council Meeting
3/21/OS
Page 12
Ohio will be supplying $705,000 in grants that they applied for; $75,000 will be provided in in-kind
contributions which is mostly the Metropaxks which leaves about $435,000 that is the Village's
responsibility and again, that is less $160,000 that the Metroparks will reimburse the Village. So
total project costs about $1.2 million with about $700,000 coming from Issue One grants and, again,
alleviating a problem that could have easily held up S.O.M. two years ago and has been a point of
contention for four decades.
Council President Buckholtz said I have mentioned it several years in a row and I mentioned it
strongly at the beginning of this year with wariting to put the money into the infrastructure and
drainage, but it looks like between infrastructure and drainage and sanitary sewers and water
remediation and jobs like this--we ar.e really getting serious-we have always been serious about
the infrastructure projects-not just doing the glitzy things on the surface but taking care of the
infrastructure and bringing it up to date so I think it is a very, very strong signal to send to other
communities as well. Any other discussion?
There were no comments.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
First lZeading of Ordinance No. 2005-08, entitled; "An emergency ordinance to approve the
current replacement pages to the Mayfield Village Codified Ordinances." Introduced by
Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. (2005 replacement pages for entire code
including the Charter.)
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Saponaro, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council
requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Camed
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Saponaro, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 2005-08.
Council President Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
