Regular Council Meeting
3/21/OS
Page 2
COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDElo1T BUCKHOLTZ
Council President Buckholtz said I have no comments.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS:
SERVICE
Mr. Metzung said I have two items: one-regarding the headwall enhancements. I ask that be
tabled this evening because I am waiting for more information from the contractor as to how he
got to that number so that we have that information.
Mr. Metzung said secondly, as tonight's Finance meeting went tonight with Fairmount Center,
the next Caucus meeting will be held across the street. I hope to have the rest of the renovations
of our work of the Administration parts one and two 95% complete by that time, so I hope
everyone will take the opportunity to check out the work we have done in that regard.
BUILDIIVG
Mr. Marrelli said in case you haven't noticed, the beverage store on S.O.M. is now a pile of
stones. Permits have been issued for new construction and we are pretty excited to see that. It
will change the skyline and the outlook of the town.
FINANCE
Mr. Brett said Council has before it tonight the 2005 Mayor's Budget in ordinance form. It was
discussed this evening iri a special Caucus of Council. In addition, the renewal of the Anthem
Health Care is on tonight's agenda. Ted Kravec did a very great job. The initial proposal from
Anthem was for a 19.95% increase in premiums. He got that down to 11% and then he got that
down to 8%. I wanted to talk about some other issues regarding health care in Executive Session
this evening. We also received word that our Issue 2 Small Governments grant will be going
down to Columbus as the Number One Grant officially today.
Mayor Rinker asked, can you specify what that is for.
Mr. Brett said it is for the Highland Road Sanitary Sewer project. Right now in its original
form, it calls for $300,000 in grants and $200,000 of participation. That may or may not be
revised prior to going to Columbus.
Council President Buckholtz asked, of the Sewer projects that we have left then we will start
with the Highland project since we got the funding for that and send out some information to
residents.
Mr. Brett said that is correct.
Council President Buckholtz said we will have a Sewer Liaison Committee meeting as soon as
we can coordinate with Phil and he's sent out notices to the people.
