Regular Council Minutes ..
5/16/OS
Page 1
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
May 16, 2005
Mayfield Village Community Room
The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, May 16, 2005, at
8:05 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President
Buckholtz called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt,
Mr. Marrie (8:20 p.m.), Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker
Absent: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Metzung, and Mr. Saponaro
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, Mr. Chapman,
Mr. Diemert, Mr. Marrelli, Chief Dearden, Chief Mohr, Mr.
Thomas and Mrs. Roman
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
Council President Buckholtz said it is my understanding that Mr. Marrie will be here; Mr.
Saponaro is under the weather but will try to be here. Mr. Metzung has been excused and Mayor
Rinker is likely not going to make it.
OPEN PORTION
5-minute limit impo8ed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state their name and address.
Mr. Bob Stabile, said I live in a couple of different states but will be on Ridgebury Boulevard for the
next couple of weeks. I am here to talk to you about a matter that is very important to me. I suppose,
based on the emails that I have sent you and with Wanda harassing you continually that you are very
well aware of what it is that I want to do. When a representative of the Village called me and asked me
to sell a part of my property to the Village for the project that you have down in front of my place at
691 S.O.M. Center Road, I asked them if there was going to be a center strip on the road. He told me
that there was not going to be a center strip on the road. I sent you evidence of that. I don't think that is
in dispute because I think that was the plan of the Village then. Well I sold the Village my piece of
property with that understanding and i found last December talking to Wanda at Heinen's that there
was going to be a center strip and I'd better check to see whether or not I could have a pass through or
if I was going to have a pass through. I did check with the Mayor and i found out there was going to be
a center strip, plans had changed and I was not going to get a pass through. In other words, my ability
to make left-hand turns and have easy access was going to be eliminated. Of course I didn't think that
was such a good thing. There must be some higher priorities that are working here in Council regarding
the decision-making and I know that the thing is still open and I hope that it really is. But in my way of
thinking about government, is that the highest priority ought to be this: that when somebody makes a
promise in your name, I can take that to the bank. And I thought I could take that to the bank. I have
known some of the people here for 30 years and have the highest regard for everybody here. I feel that
when a promise is made to me that taking left-hand turns away is going to diminish the value of my
