MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village
June 20, 2005
The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, June 20, 2005, at 8:09 PM
in the Mayfield Village Senior.Center/Community Room. Council President Bill Buckholtz
presided.
Mr. Buckholtz advised there was a change from the agenda, that there would be a public hearing
for the proposed 2006 Tax Budget. Mr. Buckholtz then turned the meeting over to Mr. Brett.
Mr. Brett advised that the tax budget has been given to every member of Council and everyone in
the audience who wanted one. Mr. Brett advised it basically sets up the lst projection for 2006's
estimated revenues and estimated expenditures; in particular, it covers the areas in the first seven
pages in those funds from which the Village receives property taxes. This would include Police
Operating, Police Pension, General Bond Retirement and the General Fund. The most important
pages are pages 5, 6, 7 and 8. The rest of the funds are covered and those are summarized on
page 10; basic outline of capital is included on page 11; all of the Village's outstanding
judgments are listed on page 12 and continued in the back on a separate sheet. The debt
overview is on page 13 and then anticipated transfers are on page 14. It's basically the first go
over for the budget for next year and this allows us to levy the millage for the millages that we
already have in effect. This will then be submitted to the Cuyahoga County Budget Commission
and they will send us a resolution in probably November for us to accept the rates as they have
determined. We've asked for the same rates as we have in the past years, the effective millage is
actually decreased as it has in the last 13 years. Mr. Brett then asked if anyone in the audience or
anyone on Council or any of the directors had any questions. There were no questions or
comments. '
Mr. Buckholtz then asked for a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Mills made a motion to adjourn,
seconded by Mrs. Cinco.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt,
Mr. Marrie, Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker
Absent: Mr. Saponaro
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, Det.
