Regular Council Meeting <br />1-22-01 <br />Page 5 <br />think what we are finding is the way that we manage it, the way we pace ourselves, is very <br />important. And this is going to be a year of some good, boring, but very necessary work, and so <br />we hope you will stay tuned. Your involvement, as always, is very important to us and we thank <br />you for coming here tonight. Thank you. <br />CONIlVIENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT MARQUARDT <br />Council President Marquardt said he would like to thank and offer his appreciation for those here <br />seiving on the committees. He appreciates their help and participation. They provide the input <br />that makes the Village run and be responsive to the community. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Recreation - Mr. Thomas said over 100 skiers have registered for our 3 ski trips. We are taking <br />325 school district residents to the CAVS-Detroit Pistons game. This is part of the MBA <br />Program where all the youth are able to play on the CAVS court from 4:00-5:30 p.m. The <br />Women's Basketball League is up and running; we have 4 teams in that program. We are in the <br />process of working on our Spring/Sutnmer Parks & Recreation Brochure. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman said we are looking forward to seeing everyone at the <br />Appreciation Dinner on February 24. After that, we will be making plans for the Pancake <br />- Breakfast. <br />Architectural Review Soard - Mr. Samac said there was no meeting since the last Council <br />meeting. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said there was no meeting. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Mills said the sign blew down; it is rotted on one end. Mr. Metzung is going to <br />see if it can be repaired. She will be discussing with the other communities, hopefully, the <br />installation of a new fence. They will have to discuss the sign if it can't be repaired. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Mrs. Cinco said Citizen's Advisory Committee has not met since the <br />last Council meeting. <br />Mrs. Roman said the next meeting will be held the last Monda.y in February. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa read the report from Mrs. Kalina. <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said the committee met January 15. They discussed a number <br />of items that were also on tonight's Finance Committee agenda including: Kustom Signals, the <br />water line replacement, site assessment of the underground storage tanks at Village Hall, the <br />community room renovation and repair of the light control system at Parkview Pool.
