Regular Council Meeting
2-19-01
Page 4
Planning and Zonin? - Mrs. Mills said Planning and Zoning met February 12 for its
organizational meeting. The same people were elected for chairman, etc.
Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said the Board will hold its annual walk-in registration for
softball and summer camps Wednesda.y, February 21 at 7 p.m. followed by the Board meeting at
8 p.m. We will discuss the annual Debbie Hudacko Scholarship Fund and interviews with the
Mayfield High School seniors who are eligible for the $500 scholarship. Discussion will ensue
regarding the Easter Party scheduled for Saturday, April 7 at noon.
Sewer Liaison Committee - Mr. Buckholtz said there was no report.
SPECIAL COMIVIITTEE REPORTS:
S.O.M. Center Road Widening Working Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said the next meeting will be
March 6 at 7:30 p.m. On this evening's agenda is a recommendation regarding the design of
S.O.M. Center Road at the entranceway of Aintree North and Highland Road. If there are any
questions, I will be happy to address those. In moving forward with the Widening Committee, I
think our focus will move towards the scheduling of specific events that will take place vis a vis
the widening. Mr. Metzung received a letter dated January 23 from Darlene Johnson (C.E.I.) in
which she points out that there is a possibility that traffic moving in both directions will be
blocked. Clearly, that is unacceptable and we will be working with the Illuminating Company
on their schedule of events. Given the fact that the Highland Road bridge will be closed in both
directions, I can't believe we would have S.O.M. shut down in both directions and Highland
Road shut down in both directions. We need to get that on a front burner and get that agenda in
place.
OLD BUSINESS '
Council President Marqua.rdt said there are no items under Old Business.
OPEN POlaTiOlv - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion perta.ining to the items under
"Old Business" only.
There were no comments.
NEVV BUSIIleT?SS
• A motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $3,500 to Ballash Press
for the Spring Issue of the Voice of the Village
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Ilacqua, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not
to exceed $3,500 to Ballash Press.
Council President Marquardt asked if there were any comments.
