Regular Council Meeting <br />2-19-01 <br />Page 3 ? <br />Safetv and Service -1V1rs. Cinco said the Committee met February 12. Ali the items were <br />discussed at the Caucus that evening. The Committee recommended a one-ton dump truck for <br />the Service Department, a haif ton pick-up truck for the Recreation Department, and the Iawn <br />care service for various areas of the Village. There was discussion on the siding for the salt and <br />storage shed at tke Service Building. The committee requested more information and formal <br />bids for lightning protection for the two buildings at the pool. The fireworks display (for <br />$10,000) w-as recommencted. All these items were forwarded to the Finance Committee this <br />evening. <br />Finance Committee - Br. Parker said the Committee met tlus evening. (They diseussed a number <br />of items--see attached agenda.) The Committee recommended approval of items l, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. <br />For itetn #7, the Commtttee deferred action pending some questions regardtng the protection of <br />that unit--that Mr. Thomas wi11 ask Mr. Zofciri. The Committee recommended approval of item <br />#S. For item 49, Dr. Parker said the Comnittee felt that at this time we wauld not recommend <br />approval. We asked that they coordinate with the Service Deparhnent to see if they could utilize <br />what the Service Department had at the appropriate times. The Committee recommended <br />approval of item # 10. The Committee defened action on item # 11 pending some paint estimates. <br />Regarding item # 12, the Committee recommended approval and discussed the possibility Qf <br />looking into future subsidizing of the brochure_ The committee recommended approval of item <br /># 13. Salary ranges will remain the same as in prior years. There will be some increases based <br />on longevity, et cetera. The Recreation Department Head has assured us that they be appropriate <br />raises; nothing abnormal. Regarding Item #14, the Committee recommended approval. This <br />year, some of the programs will be shared with other communities. The teen camp salaries will <br />come out of Mayfield Heights' budget. There is an increase in the salary for Camp Director and <br />Assistant Director; however, the camp will be longer--the hours and the nu.mber of days have <br />been increased. The counselors' salary ranges will remain the same. We hope that it will be <br />revenue neutral this year. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Cinco said they will meet this Saturday at 9 a.m. at <br />Landerhaven. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said they are still working on the basement facilities--the log <br />cabin and the school room [in the Bennett VanCuren House] and they have put up a portable <br />wall to encase the furnace room. Mayfield Heights has given us their annual donation. I hope <br />we wiIl pass ours tonight. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said M.A.R.C. mef on February ls` for the annual meefing of trustees and <br />members. The slate of offcers was approved: President: Joanne Cinco; Vice President: <br />George Hughes; Treasurer: John Polkman; Secretary: Kay Vincent. I have included a lot of <br />information and the budget in the Gouncil packets; if you have any questions, pass them on to <br />me. Michaet Smith, the President of the Wildcat Football League was present to answer <br />questions. Everytlung has been going extremely well. Two ieagues will be offered--grades K-2 <br />and 3-5. Tliis new program is a success. <br />- Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Busa said there was na report.
