Regular Council Meeting <br />6-18-01 <br />Page 3 <br />Citizen's Advisorv Board - Mrs. Cinco said CAC did not meet in May. The next meeting will be <br />next Monday, June 25, at 7:30 p.m. <br />Commission on A i?ng - Mr. Busa asked Mrs. Cinco to read the report from Eunice Kalina, <br />Human Services Director. (Mrs. Cinco read the report; attached.) <br />Drainage and Infrastructure - Mrs. Cinco said the Committee did not meet in June. They will be <br />discussing the need for a meeting in July and will let the Committee know. <br />Safet_y and Service - Mrs. Cinco said the Safety & Service Committee met June 4th. The Fire <br />Department brought forth several issues. The Department will be reviewing vendors and <br />equipment specs for thermal imaging and will come forward later this year to go out for bid. <br />Master Planning needs to be done for equipment and personnel. The new NFPA standards were <br />attached to the minutes. We are discussing whether we need to install more sirens for weather <br />warnings. Chief Mohr will look into that issue. It was noted that a Civil Service test has been <br />requested. Parks & Recreation brought the issue of painting Parkview Pool. They are setting the <br />recommendation and we should hear about this shortly. They are looking to have this done in <br />the fall after the pool is closed. <br />Finance Committee - Dr. Parker said the Committee met this evening. There were 8 items on the <br />Mr. Brett said the agenda went to Council before he finished calculating the proceeds. He <br />consequently sent a memo to Council explaining that he wanted to draw down the principle to <br />$750,000. He said the correct number is on the Finance Committee agenda and on the memo he <br />sent to Council. <br />agenda (attached.) The Committee recommended approval of the following: Item #1 <br />($10,359.50 to Prime Time Street Striping); 2. Item 3 was discussed and the Committee <br />recommends going out for bid. They are changing the material that is painted on the surface and <br />expect that future paintings will be less expensive. The Committee approved Items 4, 5, 6. <br />Regarding item #7, the Committee felt our assessment should be 1/6--not to exceed $30,000 and <br />they do recommend approval. The Committee recommended approval of Item 8(regarding <br />interest for the first payment for Parkview Pool.) Dr. Parker asked if Mr. Brett wanted to explain <br />Item 8. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Cinco said there was no meeting. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said the student who worked at the Mayfield Union Cemetery is <br />also helping the Garden Club ladies at the Historical House. Twenty-four women attended the <br />DAR luncheon on June 6. The Metroparks system is using the house to show the girls how <br />people lived back in old times. The program is called the American Girl Camp. The two classes <br />will go to the Mayfield Union Cemetery during the first of August. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said M.A.R.C. met earlier this month. It was a general business meeting. <br />They reviewed the budget. We approved a yearly donation to the Bill Shaylor Memorial
