Regular Council Meeting
8-13-01
Page 2
Mrs. Koren said our landscaper is Markey, not Arrow. We would like some input in the
decision-making process.
Mr. Samac said the Sanitary Engineers specifically stated that what they wanted to do was to get
a hold of the landscaper who does the work there and contact all the residents that are involved
and get their input as to what they would like to see and come up with a game plan. Mr. Samac
said he apologizes; he had spoken with a gentleman who he thought was the President of the
Homeowner's Association and he gave him Arrow Landscaping. He sees Markey all the time
and will get a hold of him first thing in the morning.
Mrs. Koren said we have already talked to him.
Mayor Rinker asked if Mrs. Koren could memorialize any discussions she has had and provide
copies for he and Council. He said that would help us.
Mrs. Koren said what he has thus far submitted is not acceptable to us.
Mayor Rinker asked that she discuss it with him and when she has something that looks
acceptable to her, have him submit it as an estimate and detail it. Realistically, any planting
season--we have a couple of months easily for that. Provide that for Mr. Samac and that way we
can track it.
Council President Marquardt asked if there were any additional comments.
Tom West, 773 Village Circle - said he is following up on the same sort of thing. He asked Mr.
Samac to give him an idea of what the County normally thinks about in terms of dollars and
cents so we don't spin our wheels designing something wonderful that you would be proud to put
in the center of town.
Mr. Samac said he thinks everyone at the Sanitary Engineer's Office agrees with everyone else's
assessment once they look at the site. He does not think money will be much of a concern on
their part. If it is going to satisfy the neighborhood, the neighbors and correct the job, we'll apply
any pressure we can to see to it that you are satisfied.
Mayor Rinker said historically, it usually takes a while, but with the Sanitary Engineer ultimately
we have been able to get good service from them. Typically we have to come back but typically
N.E.O.R.S.D. and the Sanitary Engineer have been pretty good about making things work out so
we are pretty optimistic. Council President Marquardt asked if there were any further comments.

There were none.
