Regular Council Meeting <br />9-24-01 <br />Page 15 <br />Mr. Cappello: By the time we went through the... <br />Mayor Rinker: You get a uniform bond. <br />Mr. Cappello: We were going to go the whole. <br />Mayor Rinker: So it is designed to maintain the integrity of the underlayment. <br />Mr. Cappello: Yes. <br />Mrs. Cinco: Do we have references from people that have done a whole street? <br />Mr. Cappello: From my understanding, they did Wilson Mills in Geauga County. I don't recall the <br />other streets, but again, this is something that I don't believe has a significantly long track record. <br />Mr. Brett: But that would've been asphalt over asphalt--right? Or asphalt over gravel? <br />Mr. Cappello: It was asphalt over asphalt; correct. <br />Mayor Rinker: Thank you. <br />Council President Marquardt: All right; we have a motion and I guess I would have to correct the <br />amount to $204,575.14.... <br />Mr. Brett: Well, $186,000. <br />Council President Marquardt: Not to exceed $205,000. It seems to me that the timing of this is <br />something that we've got to--if we are going to do something, we've got to do it. If we wait until the <br />next Council meeting, we may not be able to do it. <br />Mayor Rinker: What is it we are talking--I mean asphalt plants are open--Doug is there an impact <br />on... <br />Mr. Metzung: Yes, it would be tough if we waited until October. Asphalt plants are typically open <br />until mid-November. But then you get into a real trouble time because asphalt companies are trying <br />to button up their jobs. <br />Mayor Rinker: Are you saying that if you are going to do it, you recommend doing it now? <br />Council President Marquardt: I guess my only other comment is if you've got to do it and you wait <br />until next year, you are going to end up fixing cracks again. <br />Mr. Cappello: Do some minor repair--not I don't think...
