MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />December 17, 2001 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, December 17, 2001 at <br />8:04 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill <br />Marquardt presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ilacqua, <br />Mr. Marquardt, Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker <br />Absent: None <br />Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, Mr. Diemert, <br />Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Metzung, Lt. Porter, Chief Stevens, <br />Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Roman <br />Mrs. Roman said Mr. Samac is on vacation. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />OPEN PORTION <br />Mrs. Irene Kay, 1835 Beham Drive, Ma eld Hei hts said she is a member of the Coalition for <br />Affordable Prescription Drugs which is on tonight's agenda under Resolution No. 2001-10. This <br />resolution urges the passage of the Ohio Prescription Drug Fair Pricing Act. HB 290 and SB 127 <br />would address these issues. We want to show the state legislators that we support this <br />legislation. Many Ohioans have no health insurance or are underinsured. A great many <br />communities and organizations have already given their endorsement including Mayf'ield <br />Heights, Solon and the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners. Mrs. Kay said she is urging <br />the Mayfield Village Council to pass a resolution expressing support of these two bills. <br />7eff Schiemann, 845 Hanover Road. Mavfield Village - said he has been in the Village for 22 <br />years. Mr. Schiemann said he is here tonight to ask Council to amend tonight's agenda to include <br />a first reading on the proposed rezoning of three parcels located on Wilson Mills Road just west <br />of the Church. Council should have just received some documents and a set of plans. Mr. <br />Schiemann said he would appreciate having this item brought up sometime later. I have had the <br />opportunity to speak with most of Council outside of Mr. Buckholtz. (He left 2 voice mails <br />today for Mr. Buckholtz.) Amending of the agenda and the first reading are necessary to set the <br />issue on course for the May ballot. He asked if it would be appropriate for him to reserve <br />discussion of that issue until the issue was possibly brought up to be discussed. <br />Council President Marquardt said if it is going to be brought up, it will be brought up later. <br />Mr. Schiemann said he will save discussion for then.
