Organizational Council Meeting <br />Page 5 <br />Mayor Rinker said this is a group that should show initiative, be objective and be active. You <br />can get a lot done. The way it is laid out in this memorandum stresses on utilizing resources and, <br />in effect, it gives carte blanche to this committee to be highly motivated and highly involved. <br />We will do what we can to provide those resources. Fundamentally, if you want to have a court <br />reporter or somebody there, that should not be a stumbling block. Meeting places, all those <br />things. We have a lot of resources and that is specifically stated in Mr. Marquardt's memo. I <br />think the tone, the approach, is altogether what needs to be done. I urge those who get involved <br />to get involved. I think it is a great idea. I wish the best of luck to it. Those who wish to speak must first state <br />their name and address. <br />There were no comments. <br />ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL <br />Mr. Buckholtz asked if we should nominate a Chairman of the Committee at this time since time <br />is of the essence. <br />Mrs. Mills said I think we have to get this body together and decide who is going to be the <br />Chairman--whether it be a Councilperson or one of the people on the Committee. <br />Council President Marquardt said he would hope that we would have a full committee put <br />together by the Caucus, next week. <br />Mr. Buckholtz said he wants to nominate himself not to be the one that decides when the <br />meetings are.
