Regular Council Meeting
4-17-00
Page 17
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
,
J

Motion Carried
Authorization Given
(subject to Review and modification of the Law
I3irector)
OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first
state their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the
items under "New Business" only.
Tim Farmer, 6515 Derby (P&Z Chairman), said he received a copy of Mayor Rinker's memo.
He thinks it would be a good idea to review the zoning along Beta Drive. This isn't the first
time a medical use idea has come up. It seems like a nice, clean non-offensive use and it
would be nice if we could be in a position to accept that type of use along Beta Drive and
get some of this business. We are long-
term owners and we try to be good owners. As I leave here tonight, this is a democratic
process and we would like another outcome but we are willing to stay here for the long
haul and work with Bernie and everyone else and try to be a good neighbor. We are going
to be here 5-10-15 years from now. We are not looking for iulmediate changes but if we can
give assistance, we want you to call.
Mr. Rapaszky thanked Council; he respects their decision. He would like, as Panzica
Realty, to offer their services in the weeks and months ahead--if they could help be a
Mr. Ilacqua asked what Council accomplished with our vote. We granted the Special Use
Permit but did not grant the variance for the front-yard setback which made the parking
variance moot. We are saying we will allow that building to be used for medical use.
Mr. Diemert said the Special Use PerYnit has been granted but they cannot move into the
front yard area any further than the building currently is. Medical uses requires a lot more
parking spaces than they can accommodate so in effect it is not going to work.
