Regular Council Meeting
5-15-00
Page 10
proceed with eminent domain similar to what we did on Midvale. It would make sense to
me, if you are talking about the right-of-way and the center line as part and parcel of the
same legislation, if that is what we are tallculg about, if we are talking about something else
then we shouldn't combine them, but if that is what we are doing, that seems to set the
template for the surveying issues that will arise for the take.
Mr. Burgess said in the Committee meeting we talked about those recommendations being
interrelated. They necessarily are.
Council President Marquardt asked if they should suggest a rewording that they are voting
on the center line and width of the road as defined by the drawing.
Mr. Burgess said yes, the general alignment and right-of-way per the April4t' drawing.
Mr. Ilacqua said perhaps we can go with a joint motion to approve the general plan
alignment and right-of-way limits of S.O.M. Center Road as defined in the memorandum
dated May 2 and referenced in the Apri14' drawing.
After a very brief discussion, it was agreed that the motion should read: "A motion to
approve asrecommended by fhe S.O.M. CenterRoad Widening Commitfee thegeneral
plan view alignment and the right-of-waylimits of S.O.M. CenterRoad as putforth rrr a
memorandum ofrecommendation by the Commitfee dated May2, 2000referencing the
map as prepared by URS Greiner dated Apr114, 2000. "
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to approve as recommended by the
S.O.M. Center Road Widening Committee the general plan view alignment and the right-
of-way limits of S.O.M. Center Road as put forth in a memorandum of recommendation by
the Committee dated May 2, 2000 referencing the map as prepared by ITRS Greiner dated
Apri14, 2000.
Dr. Parker said we discussed in certain areas that although we might maultain a maacimum
right-of-way we might not use it all, that map reflects the maximum right-of-way.
Mr. Burgess said that is correct. He wants to be sure it is clear that there may be minor
adjustments as we go through the detailed design process. This establishes the general
parameters that we vvill work from.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Recommendation Approved
