Regular Council Meeting
4-22-02
Page 8
Dr. Parker said I don't have a problem notifying people; I am all for that.
Council President Buckholtz said we don't regularly send out--how large are the Codified
Ordinances?
Mr. Daniels said you are changing a law that is already in effect in Mayfield Village.
Council President Buckholtz read the difference between the way it stands now and the way it
has been modified.
Additional discussion was held.
Council President Buckholtz said we are trying to get people to log onto the website, come to
meetings. There will be another Caucus next month. This may or may not be discussed at
Caucus. There will be another meeting and another chance for people. I talked to a reporter
after the meeting and said by all means, put it in there, get people to come up here and give us
your input on this. I recommended some language and we talked about it pretty heavily at the
Caucus meeting. It is kind of like, you can't come up with every scenario. Obviously if
somebody has Tupperware in the trunk, everybody pretty much felt that it was ridiculous to
assume that was a commercial vehicle or that that is what we are talking about in the ordinance.
Mr. Daniels asked if the information Council President Buckholtz read was on the website.
Mrs. Roman said the existing ordinance is on the website; what is proposed is available at
Village Hall.
Mr. Marquardt gave Mr. Daniels his copy of the proposed ordinance.
Mr. Daniels said if you have a vehicle, like East Ohio Gas where you are issued a vehicle and
must drive it 24-hours a day because you are on call, is there exceptions to that?
Council President Buckholtz said not that I am aware of. It is a potentially simple solution. You
can have it on your property; it has to be housed in a garage.
NEW SUSINESS
• A motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $3,500 to Ballash
Press (for the Summer issue of the Voice of the Village)
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to
exceed $3,500 to Ballash Press (for the Summer issue of the Voice of the Village)
