Regular Council Meeting
4-22-02
Page 15

We'll put together some ideas and brainstorm on how we're going to attack the problems each
year.
Mrs. Mills said she attended the Ohio Bicentennial Meeting on April 11 on behalf of Mayfield
Village and the Mayfield Township Historical Society. The celebration will start on March lst,
2003, at Chillicothe, Ohio. The historical markers are available at the cost of $1,400 to $1,800 if
we want to put one somewhere in the Village. The next barn to be painted will be in Lake
County in June. Applications for the tree grant deadline is May 6th and we have akeady talked to
our Finance Director. They have a lot of inerchandise available but you have to be a licensed
dealer. They make a little replica of one yellow barn they painted with Ohio that you can buy.
They suggested we fly the Ohio State flag when all of this starts.
Council President Buckholtz asked if we will have the log cabin finished in time for this.
Mrs. Mills said yes.
Mr. Brett said he has given Council the confidential draft of the 2001 financial statements; that is
confidential and may not be shared at this point. Tomorrow, there is a post audit meeting with
the auditors at 1:00 p.m. at Village Hall. After that, the draft is no longer confidential and is
available for public scrutiny. If you have any questions on the financial statements, please call
me.
Mrs. Roman reminded everyone that the May Caucus Meeting will be on the second Monday;
May 13. (The Board of Elections will be setting up for the election on the first Monday.) Also,
articles for the Voice of the Village are due.
ADJOURNMENT
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Ilacqua, made a motion to adjourn.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
The meeting adjourned at 9:12 p.m.
