Regular Minutes
5-20-02
Page 13
Mrs. Roman said that was one thing we were to talk about this evening--was the suinmer
meeting schedule.
Mrs. Mills said the June Caucus is on the 3rd
Council President Buckholtz said the June 3rd Caucus is a better format for us to interact and we
will definitely be talking about something.
Mayor Rinker said he wanted to underscore one thing for everyone who is here. It took a long
time to get the point where studying the entrance off of Metro Park came to be, where we looked
at that as the favorite entranceway. To talk about adjusting off of that means revisiting a ntunber
of issues that we went through before, not the least of which is that is there is a substantial cost
differential to the Village which is both in terms of land acquisition and other improvements that
would have to be made. Trying to understand how you balance that ledger (a cost-benefit if you
will) not only in terms of dollars but in terms of overall impact, I think you can expect that is
something that the Council should look at pretty carefully. That is why, apologies if you thought
tonight was going to be the night because the whole point was to say that we are not going to
vote on it tonight but we are going to extend that period of time.
Council recessed into Executive Session at this time.
