Regular Minutes
5-20-02
Page 2
The Zoning Commission voted to allow Goldberg to put in the road at Metro Park and voted to
give them a variance to add a 4th story to the building. I think there is some kind of a double
standard here because some of the residents can't get a 2' variance to build a barn, yet the Zoning
Commission will give them a 25' variance to build an extra story and a half on a building where
it is zoned for three stories. Mr. Christian said he thinks Council should take another real hard
look at what Goldberg is proposing before they allow it to go through.
Council President Buckholtz told Mr. Christian he felt that is a good recap and he appreciates the
input. He said we are not voting on that issue tonight; we are giving it another month's worth of
study.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
Regular Meeting of Council - Apri122, 2002 - Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Ilacqua, made a
motion to approve the minutes.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Minutes Approved
COMMENTS FROlVI MAYOR RINKER
Mayor Rinker had no comment.
COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BUCKHOLTZ
Council President Buckholtz had no comment.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS
Service - Mr. Metzung said he would like to add one item--he received a phone call from Derrick
Herrick of East Ohio Gas today concerning the regulators at Hanover and a couple of other
locations. It appears that East Ohio Gas is going to be able to work out a deal with the property
owner at the corner of Seneca and S.O.M. (right behind the Exceleration building.) They would
be looking to use the public right-of-way on Seneca to tie into S.O.M. (to tie their line in.) This
looks like it will be one of the most viable locations that we have heard of yet. He has,
apparently, made contact with the owner and the owner has agreed to sell some property. We
will stay in touch with where that will go.
Mayor Rinker asked how many regulators will get consolidated.
Mr. Metzung said he didn't ask but he is guessing 4 at this particular location.
Council President Buckholtz and others expressed that would be good.
