Regular Council Meeting
6-17-02
Page 18
Council President Buckholtz said we are going to ask for a motion to approve the decision of
Planning and Zoning. He asked Ms. Calta to read the motion.
Ms. Calta read the motion: to approve the Planning and Zoning decision of May 6, 2002 where
they approved the roadway, the site plan and the entranceway off of S.O.M. contingent upon
these variances and the Development Agreement.
Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to approve the Planning and Zoning decision
of May 6, 2002 where they approved the roadway, the site plan and the entranceway off of
S.O.M. contingent upon these variances and the Development Agreement.
Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marrie, Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker
NAYS: Mr. Marquardt
Motion Carried
Planning and Zoning decision of Mav 6, 2002 where thev approved the roadway, the site plan
and the entranceway ofF of S.O.M. contin eg nt upon these variances and the Development
Agreement approved.
o Consideration of BOA Case No. 2002-03 (Carmen & IZuth li'Iiozzi, 511 SOIV)
Council President Buckholtz asked if the Miozzis were in the audience.
Carmen Miozzi, 511 S.O.M. Center Road -(in the audience) said Mr. Samac told me that you
already had the minutes from the Planning and Zoning meeting. I am here to appeal their decision of
a detached garage on my property. One being that, physically if I attach the garage to my house, I
think it would be more obtrusive to sitting visually and my garage would then face S.O.M. Center
Road-[and people] being able to look into my garages all the time. I also have a truck and trailer
that I do back in and out of the driveway and S.O.M. Center Road now is hard enough to do with
two lanes; being with 5, that will be nearly impossible. Also, if I put the garage attached to my
house, my kids will then have to play closer to S.O.M. Center Road. Right now, they play on the
side of my house but with the garage there, they will be within 80' of S.O.M. Center Road and that
being S lanes... Also, I think by putting it into my back yard, it's going to make it less visible. The 3
properties that abut my property, all my neighbors are in agreement that they don't have any qualms
or disagreement that it will affect their property value or make their homes less noticeable because
there is a natural barrier of trees between our property and their property where my garage is going
to be. Also, when I did build my house here, the ordinance has changed---I was allowed to put a
garage on but now I am only allowed to put that size garage if I attach it to the house. Right now,
there is a detached garage behind my property not quite the size I'm going for but also to the right of
my properiy is the same size detached garage. Like I said, it is just becoming a real pain with the
cars coming down S.O.M., backing in and getting out without being able to turn around, stopping
traffic. Like I said, if I put the garage I need on my house now, my kids have got to play almost
right on S.O.M. Before I was allowed and if I do attach it to the house, I'd then have to take away
from probably part of my laundry room and my kitchen to accommodate the vehicles that I have and
right now my kids are young, I'm looking at they are going to be driving soon and I'm going to need
more room and it's going to mean more vehicles outside. I am trying to accommodate myself and

18
