Regular Council Meeting
7-15-02
Page 6
Mr. Marquardt replied nothing; we are still working. It will take another month or two, I guess.
Council President Buckholtz said, I read all your comments; I tend to agree.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Marquardt said Planning & Zoning had a Workshop on July lst. We
went over most of this. We had the not so final review of the new category for the Planned
Urban Development Area which we know now we will be redoing some more. Dr. Ali and
Homa Tirgan made their presentation on their property which I think was the second presentation
we had seen on it. We also considered the D.O. Summers automatic car wash which got
preliminary approval tonight in Planning & Zoning.
Recreation Board - Mr. Marrie reported, we met on Wednesday the 19th of June. The members
took a tour of Parkview Pool and were updated about our Summer programs. Then, last year's
drawings of the development south of the Pool and tour of the future development site were
reviewed. The next meeting will be held on September 18. T'he review of the summer programs
and the adult programs will be part of it. We will also review the seasonal items for Parkview
Pool and we will preview the upcoming youth and adult programs. Also, we're going to
establish some committees for the youth preschool Halloween Parties and Halloween Painting
Contest.
Sewer Liaison Committee - Council President Buckholtz said, I have no report.
S.O.M. Center Road Widening Committee - Mr. Ilacqua said S.O.M. did not meet since the
previous meeting so I'll go ahead and give it to you, Doug, to give an update on what has
transpired in the last month.
Mr. Metzung said, still in the process of moving the utilities is the basic goal, trying to get C.E.I.
complete. They're balking and we've had some issues about some trees that need to be taken
down and we felt that they were their responsibility and they are not going to do it. So, in an
effort to save some time, we're going to go ahead and cut them down and argue those facts later.
Other than that, C.E.I. should be completing their work within a week or so and to follow, the
utilities will be scheduled soon thereafter.
Mr. Ilacqua and Mrs. Mills noted the next S.O.M. Center Road Widening Committee Meeting
will be July 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Council President Buckholtz addressed Mr. Metzung and asked, Doug, what happens to all those
trees we cut down there?
Mr. Metzung answered, they go in a big brush pile and then they get chopped up.
Council President Buckholtz questioned, is it enough to start like a firewood program for the
Village or something? Free firewood?
